This Temporary Life

This life is temporary, like a tent in comparison to what God's got for us. These are just my fumbling ideas to understanding it.

The Truth and Me

Hello, my name is Valerie and I’m here to seek the truth. This is my attempt at understanding this temporary life.

My dad always used to tell me that when I knew the truth that the truth would set me free, but I never knew what that meant, or where it came from. I know now that he got it from the bible.

John 8:31-32

“To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

I will only know the truth if I hold to His teachings, then I can be set free from the lies Satan and this life tell us. I understand that not everything will be revealed here on earth. But I won’t be in the dark as much as I was.

I also don’t mean to come off as one of those “Holier-than-thou” Christians. That’s not what I’m about. Those make me want to vomit. I’m just a broken human being who sins and has been without direction. This is just me trying to make sense of it all with Christ :)

Anywho, I just found this Tumblr site. I honestly for some reason thought it was Pinterest or something like that. It’s kinda funny. I totally made this account thinking that and went “Oh… I guess it’s a blog site…COOL, I can start blogging again”. After I realized what this site was, I decided to blog again. I’m not blogging to blow minds or gain followers, I’m blogging because this is a tangible way of handling my brain. Having it visually out there helps it feel real and expressed. I hope they help you if you’re going through some of the same things.Validation is always a good thing!

Anyway, it’s nice talking, but I think I’m going to go read Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin (super book plug!) Gotta love a good book!
